Injectable Treatments.

Reading about injectable treatments and the types of injectable products offered can quickly become overwhelming.  That’s what we are here for… this is not our first rodeo and we have lots of experience on both the giving and receiving end of these injectables.  As we like to say around here, you will never have something done that we have not had done ourselves, and we are way ahead of you on this path!

Neurotoxin

Neurotoxin treatments areas:

  • Frown lines (Glabella or 11’s)

  • Forehead lines

  • Crow’s Feet

  • “Bunny” lines (from crinkling the nose when smiling)

  • Fine lines around the lip

  • Lip flip

  • Corner of the mouth lines (DAOs)

  • Jaw (masseter)

  • Neck bands (platysmal bands)

  • “Orange peel” chin

  • Underarms (for hyperhydrosis, or excessive sweating)

These are the most-widely used neurotoxins for “dynamic” wrinkles - those caused by frequent repeated movements.    Although these injectables seem to be available on every corner these days, they are in fact medications, and there is a true art to administering them.  We pride ourselves on the fact that our patients look refreshed, not frozen. The most common areas of concern are the glabellar lines (the 11’s between the brows), the horizontal forehead lines and the crows feet.  Treatments are not limited to these areas, however.  We have been using these products for a decade to soften lines around the lips, to give a subtle lift to the corners off the mouth, to lift the neck bands under the chin, to improve the jaw pain associated with grinding and clenching, as well as to control excessive underarm sweating.  3 years ago, one of Dr. Ann’s patients brought her a TIME magazine from January 16, 2017.  The cover article was “How Botox Became the Drug That’s Treating Everything.”  Dr. Ann still has that magazine!!  You will often hear her laughingly tell her patients that Botox is a “gateway drug”, because the results are excellent, reproducible and reliable, and treatments are repeated 2-4 times a year.  This means you will have plenty of opportunities to discuss next steps along the road to “aging backwards” during your visits. But most importantly, we love catching up with our patients throughout the year…they become part of our clinic family!

Dermal Fillers

Dermal filler treatment areas:

  • Mid-face volume loss / lower-face lifter

  • Tear troughs, (hollow, sunken undereyes)

  • Lip volume

  • “Smoker’s Lines” (vertical lip lines)

  • Hollow temples

  • Nasolabial folds

  • Marionette lines

  • Chin (to improve profile)

  • Non-surgical rhinoplasty

  • Weak jawline

  • Oral commissures (corner of mouth)

  • Aging hands

  • Earlobe repair

As we age, the fat pads in our face gradually lose volume, leading to the inevitable development of deep lines, folds and a generalized downward sagging of the lower face.  Dermal fillers are wonderful products designed to safely and naturally replace lost volume and restore the smoothness and lift reminiscent of our younger selves.  Contrary to all the images we see in popular culture of exaggerated lips and impossibly full cheeks , the best filler is often the filler that you can’t see…the lift that improves that shadow under the eye, the crease across the cheek, the unhappy lines stretching from our mouths to our chins.  When we enhance a feature, we do it naturally and subtly…we want you to look GREAT, not DONE!  By the way, all of the fillers we use are made of hyaluronic acid…meaning they are completely reversible for the highest level of safety.  Here are some of our favorites and why we love them:

Juvederm Voluma®

Excellent lifter for significant volume loss, holds its shape beautifully over time, great for a natural looking cheek and jawline, very long lasting.

Juvederm Vollure™

Soft and flexible like its Ultra and Ultra Plus friends, equally amazing for rejuvenating the lower face area, but longer lasting…up to 18 months.

Restylane®

Can be used like Juvaderm Ultra and Ultra Plus, but is just a little bit firmer…great for a crisper lip border when desired, as well as for non-surgical rhinoplasty

Juvederm Ultra/Ultra Plus®

Soft, flexible, excellent for lines around mouth, to plump up the lips, to fill the hollows in the chin.  Generally lasts around 12 months

Juvederm Volbella®

Whisper-soft, great for lines around the lip and for very subtle enhancement of lip volume, generally lasts a year, sometimes a bit longer…our favorite “airbrushing” injectable

Sculptra®

While often listed under the dermal filler category, it is NOT.  This amazing product is a straight-up collagen stimulator.  The active ingredient comes as a powder, we mix it with sterile water to form a solution, then inject it in multiple areas of the face (and skin on other body areas) that need it the most to restore volume and improve skin quality.  The initial treatments are spaced out to allow time to see the progression of improvement between visits.  Once the desired results are achieved, they can last anywhere from 12 - 25 months, with the patient coming back only when needed for a single touch-up vial.

PDO Threads

Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are dissolvable sutures that are inserted (placed) under the skin and used to lift and tighten and improve texture. Whether we want to create collagen or lifting the sagging face, jawline or neck, PDO threads have become one of the most popular treatments at our clinic due to the instant amazing results!

PlasmaSculpt

PlasmaSculpt combines the prescription strength collagen-stimulating power of Sculptra with PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin), the body’s own building blocks of collagen obtained from your blood. Injecting these two collagen stimulators enables us to restore volume and improve skin quality in the face and neck. The results are gradual and completely natural. Excellent for patients with a combination of volume loss and textural issues.

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) Injections

This procedure involves drawing your blood in order to harvest the growth factors and fibrin scaffold, two essential building blocks of your own collagen. These building blocks can be applied to skin during a SkinPen treatment or injected prior to a Halo or Morpheus procedure to enhance results. One of our most popular treatments involves injecting a combination of PRF and Sculptra for the ultimate collagen boost.
